Our History

In August 10, 2009, Gem State ATV Association President Clark Collins and Idaho ATV Association President Bill Jones met in Boise to discuss the possibility of combining the two organizations. They made an agreement that Idaho’s ATV community would benefit from merging the two organizations. They also agreed that the name for the new organization would be The Idaho State ATV Association, Inc. (ISATVA). Clark and Bill also agreed that it would be best for Clark to seek election as President of the newly formed ISATVA.

Our Accomplishments

Gas Tax Revenue: The ISATVA, in cooperation with Idaho Recreation Council, sponsored and promoted legislation to reinstate the sharing of gas tax revenues by the State of Idaho with the trails program to support snowmobile and OHV trails throughout the State. In order to meet a budget deficit, the State of Idaho had taken the money away for one year, but due to our efforts they were reinstated within a year.

Current President Goals:

I believe in Idaho State ATV/UTV Association’s mission and desire to ensure that Idaho ATV and UTV riders have a place at the table when decisions are being made that affect their interests. I strive to visit our ATV & UTV Club meetings throughout the state on an annual basis to hear the member’s thoughts and suggestions.

Access continues to be an ongoing challenge in Idaho from Travel Management Plans with BLM, IDL and National Forest Service to ATV and UTV legislation and regulations. Drive change in behavior towards motorized uses within the Federal Agencies. Education is needed on access and tread lightly, how Idaho ATV and UTV registration money is being handled and raising awareness to Idaho State ATV/UTV Association’s accomplishments. We need to continue building new alliances with businesses, individuals, agencies and other multi-use interest groups.

I look forward to continuing Idaho State ATV/UTV Association’s mission and working together with the Idaho ATV and UTV community.
